2nd WORLD SUMMIT- UK 1998
The
Second World Summit on Television for Children was hosted by the BBC,
Channel 4, ITV and Nickelodeon UK and chaired by Anna Home. It brought
together 1,600 representatives from 82 countries to explore the main themes
of funding, regulation, co-production and newmedia. It broadened the scope
of the Summit movement to include other media beyond television. Another
innovation was the parallel children’s event involving 31 international
junior delegates which produced a Children’s Charter on Electronic
Media.
